How Clear Aligners Move Teeth
Each tray in your series is shaped slightly differently from the one before it. When you snap a new tray in place, it applies gentle, steady pressure to specific teeth. After a week or two the teeth settle into the new position and you move to the next tray.
For this to work, the trays need to be in your mouth 20 to 22 hours a day. Take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, and brush, then put them right back.

Retainers
Once your teeth are where they belong, retainers hold them there.
Living With Aligners Day To Day
Clean your trays every time you brush. Cool water and a soft toothbrush do the job. Skip hot water, mouthwash soaks, and colored toothpaste.
If you lose or crack a tray, call us the same day. Depending on where you are in the series, we may have you move to the next tray early or go back to the previous one while a replacement is made. Teeth shift quickly, so do not go without a tray for days.
